If you’re looking for accuracy, speed and capacity, the Salford Valmar 8700 pull-type spreader is your go-to machine. Built for large-scale farms or to cover a lot of acres, this model combines speed and accuracy to deliver rates as high as 1,000 pounds per acre at 8 miles per hour. The 8700 comes equipped with a 72-foot boom for maximum application or 60-foot row crop boom for broadcast and in-season granular application and is capable of variable rate application and left/right section control. The highly accurate Venturi metering system is user friendly, simple to calibrate and easy to operate.
Features may include:DURABLE HOPPER CONSTRUCTIONThe 8700 has two main hopper size options; the 8708 with an 8-ton hopper and the 8711 with an 11-ton hopper. The 8708 has 260 cubic feet of total capacity with the option to split the hopper with a 60 cubic foot hopper with a 200 cubic foot main hopper. The 8711 features 357 cubic feet of total capacity with the option to add a 60 cubic foot micro hopper with a 297 cubic foot main hopper. Higher capacity hoppers allow for you to cover more acres with less downtime for fill ups. The hopper itself is constructed of corrosion-resistant, painted 409 stainless steel and comes with a roll tarp installed.
ACCURATE METERING OPTIONSThe Valmar 8700 can be configured with either a ground-driven or hydraulic metering system. The ground-driven system, which is standard on the 8708, uses an accurate 60-speed gearbox which allow for rate adjustments in 5% increments for precise application with a wide variety of granular products. Left/right metering section control can be manually operated from the cab to minimize overlap throughout the field. The ground-driven system is not available for the 8711.
The 8700 also has the option to add a second metering system with a micro hopper. Using a 28-groove metering roller allows for precise application of granular herbicide, seed, or micronutrients at the same rate as you apply fertilizer.
RUGGED BOOM DESIGNThe Valmar 8700 features 60-foot booms on the 8708 and 72-foot booms on the 8711. Using hydraulic fold booms built with high-quality 304 stainless steel allows the 8700 booms to stand up to the abrasive nature of granular fertilizer application. These booms are equipped with rubber torsion suspension, which do not require any service and reduce friction, bouncing, and wear of the booms while operating at higher speeds. Hydraulic folding, 7-foot break-away boom tips are also implemented on the 8600 to minimize damage that may occur from striking obstacles in the field.
The left and right boom are supplied independently for the greatest application accuracy, and allowing for left/right right section control in hydraulically driven and mechanically driven machines.
ADJUSTABLE AXLE WIDTHS TO FIT ANY CROPOriginally designed to meet the needs of row crop farmers, the 8700 features axles which can be adjusted from 72 inches up to 120 inches with the wide adjustable axle option and row crop tires to accommodate most row spacings.
